Mardi Rollow is a solist and dance director with the international dance company, Aman. She is a specialist in the music and dance of Tunisia, where she resided for several years, and has travelled extensively in North Africa and the Near East. A recent grant enabled her to return to Morocco to film and record the dance and music performed by the traditional entertainers called shikhat.
Miss Rollow wishes to express her gratitude to Saleh El Mahdi, Director of Popular Arts and Music for the Tunisian Ministry of Culture; Abdelkrim Chihi; Mohammed ben Abdullah, Cultural Attaché of the Tunisian Embassy in Morocco; Habib Mejri, journalist, and Reda Barrada of the Moroccan Ministry of Tourism”
